Removal Procedure

- Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
- Remove engine protection shield. Refer to Engine Protection Shield Replacement
- Disconnect the transmission fluid cooler lines (3) from the radiator. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection .
- Remove the transmission fluid cooler lines from the retainer located on the radiator.
- Remove the transmission fluid cooler lines from the retainer located on the right side of the engine.
- Support the transmission with a transmission jack.
- Remove the transmission support. Refer to Transmission Support Crossmember Replacement (2WD) or Transmission Support Crossmember Replacement (4WD) .
- Remove the front exhaust pipe assembly. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement (LLV/LLR - w/2WD) or Catalytic Converter Replacement (LLV/LLR - w/4WD) .
- Carefully lower the transmission to gain access to the transmission fluid cooler line fittings.
- Disconnect the transmission fluid cooler lines (2) from the transmission. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection .
- Remove the transmission fluid cooler lines (1) from the vehicle.
