Installation Procedure

- Install the transmission fluid cooler lines (1) to the vehicle.
- Install the transmission fluid cooler lines (2) to the transmission. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection .
- Raise the transmission into position.
- Install the front exhaust pipe assembly. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement (LLV/LLR - w/2WD) or Catalytic Converter Replacement (LLV/LLR - w/4WD) .
- Install the transmission support. Refer to Transmission Support Crossmember Replacement (2WD) or Transmission Support Crossmember Replacement (4WD) .
- Remove the transmission jack.
- Install the clip that holds the transmission fluid cooler lines together.
- Install the transmission fluid cooler lines to the right side of the engine.
- Install the transmission fluid cooler line to the retainer located on the radiator.
- Install the transmission fluid cooler lines (3) to the radiator. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection .
- Install engine protection shield. Refer to Engine Protection Shield Replacement
- Lower the vehicle.
- Fill the transmission to the proper level with DEXRON® VI transmission fluid. Refer to Transmission Fluid Check .
NOTE:
Ensure that the cooler line being installed has a plastic cap on each end that connects to a quick connect fitting. If no plastic cap exists, or the plastic cap is damaged, obtain a new plastic cap and position on to the cooler line prior to the cooler line installation.
