Removal Procedure

  1. Apply the parking brake.
  2. Shift the transmission into NEUTRAL.
  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

  5. Remove the nut securing the transmission control lever to the manual shaft.
  6. Remove the transmission control lever from the manual shaft.

  8. Disconnect the electrical connector (3) from the switch (4).

  10. Remove the bolts securing the park/neutral back up switch to the transmission.
  11. IMPORTANT: If the switch does not slide off the manual shaft, the outer edge of the manual shift shaft may need to be filed to remove any burrs.
  12. Remove the park/neutral back up switch from the manual shaft.
