Preliminary Procedures
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle

- Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
.
- Remove the brake rotor. Refer to Rear Brake Rotor Replacement
.

Tip:
- Clean the adjuster threads and apply a light coat of high temperature brake lubricant to the adjuster threads.
- Fully retract the park brake shoe adjuster.

Tip:
- Set the J 21177-A
so that it contacts the inside diameter of the rotor. See Special Tools .
- Position the J 21177-A
over the shoe and the lining at the widest point. See Special Tools .
- Turn the adjuster nut until the lining just contacts the J 21177-A
. See Special Tools .
- Repeat steps 1-3 for the opposite side.
- Adjust the park brake cable. Refer to Park Brake Adjustment (LHD) or Park Brake Adjustment (RHD) .
