Installation Procedure

  1. Position the power steering gear inlet hose to the vehicle.

    IMPORTANT: Start all power steering gear inlet hose fittings by hand before finalizing any torques.
    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  3. Install a new O-ring seal and connect the power steering gear inlet hose to the steering gear.

    Tighten:  Tighten the fitting to 28 N.m (21 lb ft).

  5. Install a new O-ring seal and connect the power steering gear inlet hose (2) to the steering pump (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the fitting to 28 N.m (21 lb ft).

  6. Clean any excess power steering fluid from the vehicle and remove any drain pans.
  7. Install the engine protection shield. Refer to Engine Protection Shield Replacement .
  8. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
