Disassembly Procedure

  1. Drain the power steering fluid from the power steering pump.
  2. Remove the 2 power steering pump mounting studs (2).
  3. Remove the power steering flow control valve fitting (4).
  4. Remove the flow control valve O-ring seal (3).

  6. Remove the flow control valve (2) and the flow control valve spring (3) from the power steering pump housing (1).

  8. Remove the power steering reservoir (1) from the power steering pump housing assembly (2).

  10. Remove the O-ring seals (1) (4) (5).
  11. Remove the magnet (3).
  12. Clean the magnet (3).
  13. Inspect the welch plug in the power steering pump housing (2). Do not remove the welch plug. If the welch plug is deformed or dislodged, replace the power steering pump housing (2).
