Inflatable Restraint Front End Sensor Replacement

Callout Component Name
CAUTION: Refer to SIR Inflator Module Handling and Storage Caution .

Preliminary Procedure

  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
  2. Remove the engine protection shield. Refer to Engine Protection Shield Replacement .
1 Inflatable Restraint Front End Discriminating Sensor - Right
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .

Procedure

  1. Disconnect the electrical connection.
  2. Loosen the front end discriminating sensor bolt. (Qty: 1)
  3. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .

Tip:  The bolt is an integral part of the sensor and should remain with the sensor.

Tighten:  10 N.m (89 lb in)
2 Inflatable Restraint Front End Discriminating Sensor - Left
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .

Procedure

  1. Disconnect the electrical connection.
  2. Loosen the front end discriminating sensor bolt. (Qty: 1)
  3. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .

Tip:  The bolt is an integral part of the sensor and should remain with the sensor.

Tighten:  10 N.m (89 lb in)
