Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2007 GMC Yukon XL, 2007 GMC Yukon, 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2007 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Disconnect the liftgate module connector C1.
- Ignition ON, using a DMM verify that no voltage is present at the object sensor signal circuit terminal 8 in the harness connector.
- If voltage is present, repair the object sensor signal and low reference circuits for a short to voltage.
- Verify that continuity to ground is not present from the object sensor signal circuit terminal 8 in the harness connector.
- If continuity to ground is present, repair the object sensor signal circuits for a short to ground.
- Verify that the resistance between the signal circuit terminal 8 and the low reference circuit terminal 16 is approximately 20K ohms.
- If the resistance is not approximately 20K ohms, test the object sensor signal and low reference circuits for an open/high resistance. If the circuits test normal, test and replace the faulted object sensor.
- If the circuits test normal, replace the liftgate control module.
