Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Hummer H2. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the luggage carrier, if equipped. Refer to Luggage Carrier Replacement (SUT) or Luggage Carrier Replacement (SUV) .
  2. Use a heat gun in order to heat the molding and the surrounding sheet metal to 82-93°C (180-200°F).
  3. Remove the roof joint molding.

Use a flat bladed tool in order to pry off the molding between the sealer and the joint. Use pliers or a similar tool in order to handle the hot molding and pull the molding loose. The molding and the sealer should come off in 1 piece.

Do not damage the paint on the cab.

  4. Clean the joint in order to remove any remaining sealer. Sealer could interfere with the fit of the replacement molding.
