Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the rear pillar trim panel.
  2. Remove the inflator nozzle retaining nut.
  3. Remove the inflator bezel.
  4. Remove the inflator switch from the bezel.
  5. Using a suitable flat bladed tool, press downward on the door lock switch and rotate the top of the switch outward to disengage the switch from the trim panel.
  6. Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) pin and remove the electrical connector from the switch.

  8. Remove the lift gate sill plate. Refer to Liftgate Door Sill Plate Replacement .
  9. Remove the lock pillar trim panel. Refer to Body Lock Pillar Trim Panel Replacement .
  10. Firmly grasp and gently pull up on the body side panel tray to disengage it from the body panel.
  11. Disconnect the 12 volt power supply electrical connector.
  12. Remove the inflator nozzle from the panel.

  14. Firmly gasp and gently pull the front edge of the body panel to disengage the retaining clips.
  15. Remove the right side body panel from the vehicle.
  16. Inspect and replace any missing or broken retaining clips.
