Installation Procedure

    NOTE: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
  1. Install the fan shroud (3) to the vehicle.
  2. Install the bolts (4) to the fan shroud (3).

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  3. Install the transmission oil cooler line to the fan shroud retainer.
  4. Rotate the slip ring to the original position.
  5. Install the bolt (5) to the fan shroud (3).

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

  7. Install the radiator inlet hose to the fan shroud retainer (3).
  8. Install the air cleaner outlet duct.
  9. Tighten the air cleaner outlet duct clamp at the throttle body.

    Tighten:  Tighten the clamp screw to 7 N.m (62 lb in).

  10. Tighten the air cleaner outlet duct clamp at the mass airflow sensor.

    Tighten:  Tighten the clamp screw to 7 N.m (62 lb in).
