Cleaning Procedure

- Remove and discard the intake manifold-to-cylinder head gaskets (514).
- Remove the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor. Refer to Intake Manifold Removal (Without Active Fuel Management) , Intake Manifold Removal (With Active Fuel Management) .
- Remove the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge solenoid valve, EVAP tubes, and fuel rail with injectors (500). Refer to Fuel Rail and Injectors Removal .
- Remove the throttle body and gasket. Refer to Throttle Body Assembly Removal .
- Clean the intake manifold in solvent.
- Dry the intake manifold with compressed air.
