Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the steering gear. Refer to Steering Gear Replacement (Recirculating Ball Without LMM) , Steering Gear Replacement (HP2) , Steering Gear Replacement (Hydraulic Rack and Pinion) .
  2. Place the steering gear into a vise.

  4. Remove the pitman arm nut (1) and washer (2).

  6. Remove the pitman arm from the pitman arm shaft using J 6632-01  pitman arm puller or J 29107-A  pitman arm puller.
