Circuit/System Description

The amplifier receives a discrete engine speed signal from the engine control module. The high signal circuit is a pulse-width modulated signal from the engine control module. The low signal circuit provides a ground reference for the amplifier. The amplifier uses the engine RPM signal and the inputs from three headliner mounted microphones to determine the frequency of undesirable engine sounds in the vehicle cabin.
