Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2012 GMC Yukon XL, 2012 GMC Yukon, 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2012 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2012 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition OFF, remove the Q8 control solenoid valve assembly. Refer to Control Solenoid Valve and Transmission Control Module Assembly Replacement .
- Inspect the Q8 control solenoid valve and transmission control module assembly. The Q8 control solenoid valve and transmission control module assembly must be externally cleaned of all debris and each solenoid resistance value must be within the specified range. Refer to Control Solenoid Valve and Transmission Control Module Assembly Inspection .
- If the solenoid resistance is not within the specified ranges
Replace the Q8 control solenoid and transmission control module assembly.
- If the solenoid resistance is within the specified ranges
- If the solenoid resistance is not within the specified ranges
- Place the Q8 control solenoid valve and transmission control module on a clean work surface near the transmission assembly.
- Connect DT-47825-10 jumper harness between the vehicle wire harness electrical connector, and the Q8 control solenoid valve assembly electrical connector.
- Ignition ON, verify with a scan tool the following test status parameters display OK:
- Pressure Control Solenoid Valve 5 Performance Test Status
- Pressure Control Solenoid Valve 5 Control Circuit High Voltage Test Status
- Pressure Control Solenoid Valve 5 Control Circuit Low Voltage Test Status
- If any test status parameter displays Fault or Malfunction
Replace the Q8 control solenoid valve assembly.
NOTE:
You must perform the Circuit/System Verification first.
