Circuit/System Description

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2012 GMC Yukon XL, 2012 GMC Yukon, 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2012 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2012 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The transmission manual shift shaft switch assembly, also known as the internal mode switch, is a sliding contact switch attached to the manual shift shaft inside the transmission case. The park/neutral position switch is integrated into the internal mode switch and connects to the Transmission Control Module lead-frame through a short wire harness. The circuit uses the Transmission Control Module as a pass-through connector only.

The Park/Neutral Signal is sent from the park/neutral switch directly to the engine control module (ECM) and is used for engine start enable.
