Circuit/System Verification

  1. Ignition ON, verify with a scan tool the Tap Up/Down Switch parameter displays ON in the Chassis Data list under BCM.
    • If the parameter does not displays the correct values 

      Refer to Circuit/System Testing below.

    • If the parameter does display the correct value 
  2. Ignition ON, verify with a scan tool the Tap Up/Down parameter displays UP when pressing the plus (+) switch and Down when pressing the minus (-) switch.
    • If the parameter does not displays the correct values 

      Refer to Circuit/System Testing below.

    • If the parameter does display the correct value 
  3. Ignition ON, verify with a scan tool the Driver Shift Control parameter in the Transmission Data list changes from, Inactive to Active when placing the automatic transmission shift lever in manual mode position.
    • If the parameter does not displays the correct values 

      Refer to Circuit/System Testing below.

    • If the parameter does display the correct value 
  4. Ignition ON, verify with a scan tool the Driver Shift Request Switch 1 displays NONE in the transmission data list.
    • If the parameter does not displays the correct values 

      Refer to Circuit/System Testing below.

    • If the parameter does display the correct value 
  5. Ignition ON, verify with a scan tool the Driver Shift Request Switch 1 displays Upshift when pressing the plus (+) switch and Downshift when pressing the minus (-) switch.
    • If the parameter does not displays the correct values 

      Refer to Circuit/System Testing below.

    • If the parameter does display the correct value 
  6. After performing the above steps, verify that the DTC does not reset by operating the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions you observe from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data. If the vehicle passes the Circuit/System Verification procedure, then STOP. Do not perform the Circuit/System Testing or Component Testing as this may result in an unnecessary part replacement. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections .
