Removal Procedure

Remove the transmission fluid pan. Refer to Automatic Transmission Fluid, Fluid Pan and/or Filter Replacement .
Remove the case extension and gasket. Refer to the appropriate procedure:
- For 2WD, refer to Case Extension and Gasket Replacement .
- For 4WD, refer to Transfer Case Adapter Replacement .

NOTE:

Walk the pin out using side cutters or equivalent, then discard the pin.

Remove the park pawl actuator guide pin (1).
Remove the park pawl actuator guide (2).
Remove and Discard the park pawl actuator guide seals (3).
