Removal Procedure

- Remove the transmission fluid filter and auxiliary fluid pump filter. Refer to Automatic Transmission Fluid Filter and Auxiliary Fluid Pump Filter Replacement .
- Disconnect the transmission 24 Way connector.
- Disconnect the transmission 16 Way connector.
- Remove the transmission electrical connector passage sleeve. Refer to Automatic Transmission Electrical Connector Passage Sleeve Replacement .
- Remove the control wiring harness from the wire harness retainer (2).
- Remove the control wiring harness connector (1) from the wire harness retainer.
- Disconnect the control wiring harness from the solenoid valve body (3).
- Disconnect the manual shift shaft position switch connector.
- Disconnect the output shaft speed sensor connector.
- Remove the manual shift detent spring bolt (4).
- Remove the manual shift detent spring (5).
- Remove the 4 control valve upper body bolts (4) M6 x 1.0 x 65.
- Remove the 2 control valve upper body bolts (5) M6 x 1.0 x 80.
- Remove the control (w/body and TCM) valve assembly (6).
- Remove the automatic transmission (A/T) fluid pump seal assembly (7).
Discard the A/T fluid pump seal.
- Remove the hybrid low, 1-2 clutch regulator valve seals (8).
Discard the clutch regulator valve seals.
- Disconnect the 2 drive motor connectors from the control wiring harness.
- Remove the control wiring harness (2) and O-ring seal (1). Discard the O-ring seal.

NOTE:
Do not remove all the bolts in the control valve body assembly. Remove only the bolts indicated.
