Removal Procedure

- Remove the steering linkage outer tie rod. Refer to Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod Replacement .
- Remove the steering linkage inner tie rod nut (2) from the steering linkage inner tie rod (1).
- Remove the outer boot clamp (2) from the steering gear boot (1).
- Remove the inner boot clamp (1) from the steering gear boot (2) with side cutters.
- Discard the inner boot clamp.
- Remove the steering gear boot from the steering gear.
