Power Brake Booster Pump Fluid Accumulator Disposal

Preliminary Procedure Remove the power brake booster accumulator. Refer to Power Brake Booster Pump Fluid Accumulator Replacement (JH6) , Power Brake Booster Pump Fluid Accumulator Replacement (Two-Mode Hybrid) .
1 Power Brake Booster Accumulator

Procedure

  1. Clamp the accumulator in a vise.
  2. Cover the accumulator with a cloth.
  3. Using a hand saw, cut the accumulator body between a and b according to specification to discharge the gas and fluid inside.
  4. Discard both accumulator halves in the proper waste container.

Specification 
  • Distance between a and b: 100 mm (4 in)
  • Distance from top of accumulator hex and b: 20 mm (0.79 in)
