Climate Control Seat System

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2012 GMC Yukon XL, 2012 GMC Yukon, 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2012 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2012 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Once a climate control seat system is activated, cabin air is drawn through the seat blower motors and directed across the fins of each of the TEDs located under the seat cushion and in the seat back. The air is cooled as it passes over the TED's cold side. This conditioned air is then directed through channels in the foam of the seat pad and through small holes in the seat cover to the occupant. Once the system is activated, the seat ventilation heating and cooling module uses a set of algorithms to control the temperature of the selected heating or cooling modes.
