Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2012 GMC Yukon XL, 2012 GMC Yukon, 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2012 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2012 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Position the parking brake cable to the vehicle.
- Connect the parking brake cable eye (1) to the parking brake actuator lever.
- Install the parking brake cable to the cable bracket by compressing the parking brake cable spring toward the cable eye and passing the cable through the cable bracket slot.
- Ensure the parking brake cable conduit is fully seated in the cable bracket.
- Feed the parking brake cable through the parking brake cable guides (1) on the left frame rail.
- Install the parking brake cable bracket bolt (1) and tighten to 22 (16 lb ft).
- Compress the locking tabs and install the left rear parking brake cable retainer (1) to the frame.
- Loosely install the parking brake equalizer adjuster nut (1).
- Adjust the parking brake. Refer to Parking Brake Adjustment (1500) , Parking Brake Adjustment (2500) .
