Removal Procedure

  1. Release the park brake.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  3. Fig 1: Identifying Right Parking Brake Cable Connector

  4. Drill a 3 mm (1/8 in) hole through the dimple in the right parking brake cable connector (1) where the front parking brake cable is connected.
  5. Pull the parking brake equalizer forward and disconnect the right rear parking brake cable connector from the front parking brake cable.

  7. Drill a 3 mm (1/8 in) hole through the dimple in the intermediate parking brake cable connector where the front parking brake cable (1) is connected.
  8. Disconnect the front parking brake cable from the intermediate parking brake cable.
  9. Remove the intermediate parking brake cable.
