Liftgate Center Applique Replacement (GMC Yukon Hybrid 2 Mode)

Liftgate Center Applique Replacement (GMC Yukon Hybrid 2 Mode)

Callout Component Name

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Open and support the liftgate assembly.
  2. Remove the rear wiper motor. Refer to Rear Window Wiper Motor Replacement .
  3. Do Not Use Air-Type Power Tools when Performing the Following Steps:
    • Use a needle-nose type vice grip plier and ratchet type wrench.
    • Hold the very end of the applique studs secure.
    • Slowly ratchet the nut from each of the applique studs.
    • Use the access holes in the panel to access and remove the nuts.
  4. Using a 8 mm socket, push the socket onto the retainers in order to release the retainer ears from the inner panel.
  5. Pull and remove the liftgate center applique from the exterior side of the body panel.
  6. Disconnect all electrical connectors from the applique panel.
1 Liftgate Center Applique Assembly Nut (Qty: 4)
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .


Tighten 
6 N.m (53 lb in)
2 Integral Retainer (Qty: 2)
TIP:  Use a 8 mm socket to depress the ears on the retainers to remove the applique from the liftgate panel.
3 Rear Liftgate Harness Electrical Connector
TIP:  Disconnect the electrical connector after releasing the retainers.
4 Liftgate Center Applique Assembly

Procedure

  1. Pull the applique rearward in order to remove the applique from the liftgate panel.
  2. Transfer the rearview camera, if equipped. Refer to Rearview Camera Replacement (Endgate) , Rearview Camera Replacement (Liftgate) .
