Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2012 GMC Yukon XL, 2012 GMC Yukon, 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2012 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2012 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Install the spare tire hoist shaft guide (1) to the bumper.
- Install the hoist to the crossmember.
- Install the bolt (1) and tighten to 50 Y (37 lb ft).
- Install the collar to the hoist.
- Install the shaft to the hoist.
- Install the spare tire (1) to the hoist.
- Rotate the hoist shaft clockwise until the spare tire (1) is in position and the hoist clicks 2 times or it skips twice. You cannot overtighten the cable.
- Remove the safety stands.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the spare tire stowage lock cylinder (1).

Refer to Fastener Caution .
CAUTION:
Use only hand tools to lower and raise the spare tire hoist assembly. Do not use air tools. The use of air tools at high speeds will damage the spare tire hoist assembly.
