Installation Procedure

  1. Install the mode door (1) to the air distribution housing (1).

  3. Install the air distribution housing (1) to the HVAC module assembly (2).
  4. NOTE: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
  5. Install the screws to the air distribution housing (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  6. Install the wiring harness to the air distribution housing (1).

  8. Connect the electrical connector (3) to the mode actuator (4).
  9. Install the screws to the mode actuator (4).
  10. Install the mode actuator (4) to the HVAC module assembly (1).
  11. Install the HVAC module assembly. Refer to HVAC Module Assembly Replacement .
