WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2011 GMC Yukon XL, 2011 GMC Yukon, 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2011 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2011 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition ON and fuel cap removed, verify the scan tool Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor parameter is between 1.3-1.7 volts.
- If not within the specified range, go to Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor in Circuit/System Testing.
- Install the fuel cap.
- Engine running, the EVAP canister vent solenoid valve open, command the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve to 100 percent with a scan tool. The reading should not increase to greater than -15 mmHg (-8 inches H2O).
- If greater than the specified range, go to Restriction in Circuit/System Testing.
- Using the scan tool, decrease the canister purge duty cycle from 100 percent to 0 percent. The vacuum should decrease to near zero.
- If the fuel tank vacuum does not return to zero or appears to decrease too slowly go to Restriction in Circuit/System Testing.
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
