Transmission Hot - Idle Engine
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2011 GMC Yukon, 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe, and 2011 Cadillac Escalade. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
This message is displayed and a chime will sound when the TCM detects a transmission fluid temperature greater than 150°C (302°F). A key cycle long enough for the TCM to power down is required to reset the action taken after the transmission has cooled below 150°C (302°F). Prior to the transmission fluid temperature reaching 150°C (302°F), the system will execute the following actions in an attempt to cool the transmission fluid:
- Autostop is inhibited when the transmission fluid temperature is greater than 100°C (212°F).
- The coolant fans turn on when the transmission fluid temperature is greater than 125°C (257°F).
