When attempting to set transmission control module internal DTCs, run the engine for at least 1 minute, and then shut the engine off for 30 seconds. Following this procedure will allow for a complete transmission control module shutdown. Program the transmission control module with the latest software version and retest the DTC to see if the DTC resets.
This DTC can be falsely set by commanding pressure control solenoid valves 2 and 3 On with a scan tool. Do not attempt to diagnose if DTC P16F7 is set due to commanding pressure control solenoid valves 2 and 3 On with a scan tool.
