Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the steering linkage outer tie rod. Refer to Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod Replacement .
  2. Fig 1: Steering Linkage Inner Tie Rod And Nut

  3. Remove the steering linkage inner tie rod nut (2) from the steering linkage inner tie rod (1).

  5. Remove the outer boot clamp (2) from the steering gear boot (1).

  7. Remove the inner boot clamp (1) from the steering gear boot (2) with side cutters.
  8. Discard the inner boot clamp.
  9. Remove the steering gear boot from the steering gear.
