Rear Brake Hose Replacement (JH6)

Rear Brake Hose Replacement (JH6)

WARNING:

Refer to Brake Fluid Warning .

WARNING:

Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Warning .

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
1 Brake Hose to Caliper Rear Bolt
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .


Tighten 
40 N.m (30 lb ft)
2 Brake Hose to Caliper Gasket (Qty: 2)
TIP:  DO NOT re-use the copper gaskets. Install NEW gaskets.
3 Brake Pipe Rear Fitting
Tighten 
25 N.m (18 lb ft)
  • Remove any dirt or debris from the brake pipe fitting.
  • Use a backup wrench when removing or installing the brake pipe fitting.
  • Cap the brake pipe fitting to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
4 Brake Hose Bracket to Rear Axle Bolt
Tighten 
12 N.m (106 lb in)
5 Brake Rear Hose
