Removal Procedure

  1. Remove door upper trim panel. Refer to Upper Extension Trim Panel Replacement (Except Escalade) , Upper Extension Trim Panel Replacement (Escalade) .
  2. Fig 1: Door Trim Panel

  3. Pull the door trim panel away from the door and support the bottom of the trim panel on the door panel hooks. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .

  5. Remove the front side door inside handle fasteners (1).
  6. Remove the front side door inside handle assembly (2).
    1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
    2. If replacing the door handle, transfer the heated seat switch or seat adjuster memory switch, if equipped. Refer to Front Seat Heater Switch Replacement , or Driver Seat Adjuster Memory Switch Replacement .
    3. Depress both tabs to remove the front side door cable and pull the cable rearward out of the handle assembly.
