Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil and the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil wave washer. Refer to Steering Wheel Airbag Coil Replacement .
    2. Fig 1: Steering Column Shaft Assembly Components

    IMPORTANT:

    DISCARD the old steering shaft lock plate ring.

  2. Remove the following parts from the steering shaft:
    1. Steering shaft lock plate retaining ring (1) using compressor J 23653-SIR and adapter J 42137 .
    2. Turn signal switch cancel cam position plate (2)
    3. Turn signal switch cancel cam (3)
