Steering Wheel Replacement

Steering Wheel Replacement

Callout Component Name
WARNING:

Refer to SIR Warning .

Preliminary Procedure Remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to Steering Wheel Inflatable Restraint Module Replacement .
1 Steering Wheel Nut
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .


Tighten 
41 N.m (30 lb ft)
2 Steering Wheel
CAUTION:

Do not hammer on the end of the steering column shaft. Hammering could loosen the plastic injections which maintain the steering column rigidity.

Procedure

  1. Disconnect any electrical connectors as needed.
  2. Loosen the steering wheel nut until two to three threads are left engaged.
  3. Wiggle the steering wheel until the steering wheel disengages completely.
  4. Remove the steering wheel nut.
  5. Remove the steering wheel.
