Circuit/System Testing

- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the heated steering wheel control module.
- Test for less than 10.0 ohms between the ground circuit terminal B X277 and ground.
- If greater than the specified value, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
- Ignition ON, verify a test lamp illuminates between the ignition voltage circuit terminal A X277 and ground.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the ignition circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
- Install a 3A fused jumper wire between the indicator control circuit terminal 4 and B+. Verify the heated steering wheel indicator is illuminated.
- If the indicator does not illuminate, test the control circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, test or replace the left steering wheel control switch.
- Verify that a test lamp does not illuminate between the indicator control circuit terminal 4 and ground.
- If the test lamp is always ON, test the indicator control circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the heated steering wheel control module.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the steering wheel heat control module.
