Removal Procedure

    CAUTION: Refer to SIR Caution .
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
  2. Remove the steering wheel theft deterrent lock. Refer to Steering Wheel Theft Deterrent Lock Replacement .
  3. If equipped, remove the theft deterrent control module.
  4. Rotate the key alarm connector (1) 90 degrees.
  5. Gently pull the key alarm connector (2) out of the ignition lock cylinder case assembly (1).

  7. Disconnect the connector from the ignition switch assembly.
  8. Remove the wires encased in the ignition switch clip, which is located on the side of the ignition switch.
  9. Remove the ignition switch assembly (2) using J 42759  . See Special Tools .
