Removal Procedure

- Ensure the park brake is released.
- Disable the park brake cable automatic adjuster. Refer to Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Disabling .
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
- Disconnect the right rear park brake cable (2) from the equalizer on the intermediate park brake cable (1).
- Remove the park brake cable from the mounting bracket by depressing the locking tabs.
- Release the park brake cable from the park brake cable guides on the vehicle frame.
- Remove the bolt from the rear axle clip (2500 series).
- Release the park brake cable from the differential clip (2500 series).
- Remove the park brake cable from the track bar clips (1500 series).
- Remove the park brake cable from the actuator lever.
- Remove the cable from the backing plate by depressing the locking tabs.
- Remove the cable from the retaining bracket.
- Remove the park brake cable.
