Removal Procedure

Ensure the park brake is released.
Disable the park brake cable automatic adjuster. Refer to Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Disabling .
Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
Disconnect the right rear park brake cable (2) from the equalizer on the intermediate park brake cable (1).

Remove the park brake cable from the mounting bracket by depressing the locking tabs.
Release the park brake cable from the park brake cable guides on the vehicle frame.

Remove the bolt from the rear axle clip (2500 series).
Release the park brake cable from the differential clip (2500 series).

Remove the park brake cable from the track bar clips (1500 series).

Remove the park brake cable from the actuator lever.
Remove the cable from the backing plate by depressing the locking tabs.
Remove the cable from the retaining bracket.
Remove the park brake cable.
