Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2008 GMC Yukon XL, 2008 GMC Yukon, 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2008 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Position the rear floor panel exhaust heat shield to the studs and install the heat shield nuts.
Tighten: Tighten the nuts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
- If the vehicle is a Suburban, Yukon XL, Yukon Denali XL, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT or a Avalanche, position the exhaust heat shield to the studs and install the heat shield nuts, as required.
Tighten: Tighten the nuts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
- If the vehicle is a Tahoe, Yukon, Yukon Denali, or a Escalade, position the exhaust heat shield to the studs and install the heat shield nuts, as required.
Tighten: Tighten the nuts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
- Position the left front floor panel exhaust heat shield to the studs and install the heat shield nuts.
Tighten: Tighten the nuts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
- Install the muffler assembly, as required. Refer to Muffler Replacement (1500 - LC9/LMG/LY5/L76) or Muffler Replacement (1500 - LMG/LY2/LY5) or Muffler Replacement (1500 - L92) or Muffler Replacement (2500) or Muffler Replacement (LFA With Norma Flange) or Muffler Replacement (LFA Without Norma Flange) .
- Install the catalytic converter, if necessary. Refer to one of the following:
