Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Hummer H2. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

  1. Position the rear bumper (1) to the chassis frame.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  3. Install the 2 rear bumper bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 32 N.m (24 lb ft) at the spare tire carrier mounts.

  4. Install the rear tire carrier mounts (2, 3) to the bumper.
  5. Install the bolts (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 100 N.m (74 lb ft).

  7. Install the reinforcement bar (2) to the chassis hitch bolt and end cap.
  8. Install the nuts (1, 3) and adjust the bumper height.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 85 N.m (63 lb ft).

  10. Install the 2 outer bumper end caps (2) and secure the push-pin retainers.
  11. Connect the rear park lamp electrical sockets.

  13. Secure the electrical harness loom (1) to the rear bumper bracket (3) with a new tie strap (2).
  14. Install the push-in retainers in order to secure the bumper end caps.

  16. Install the trailer tow receptacle (2) to the rear bumper (1).
  17. Install the bolts (3).

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  19. Secure the rear bumper step cover (1). Refer to Rear Bumper Step Pad Replacement .
  20. Secure the license plate harness grommet (2) to the bumper cover.
  21. Connect the trailer tow receptacle electrical connector.
  22. Install the top rear bumper step pad. Refer to Rear Bumper Step Pad Replacement .
  23. Install the spare tire carrier. Refer to Spare Tire Carrier Replacement .
  24. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  25. Install the 2 rear lower wheelhouse liner bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
