Circuit/System Description
The accessory power inverter module converts the 12-volt DC battery voltage to 108-125 volts AC to operate AC-powered devices. The accessory power inverter module provides up to 150 watts of power. The accessory power outlet is located on the left rear interior trim panel. The accessory power inverter module is located behind the left side rear quarter trim panel.
Battery voltage is supplied to the accessory power inverter module from the 25-amp ACPO fuse located in the auxiliary fuse block. The accessory power inverter module is grounded to the right rear D-pillar. When the engine is running, voltage, supplied by the FWD fuse, is supplied to the plug-inserted switches in the accessory power outlet. When a 115-volt AC powered device is plugged into the outlet, the normally-open plug-inserted switches, located internally in the accessory power outlet, close. The accessory power inverter module detects voltage on the signal circuit, and the accessory power inverter module supplies 115 volts AC to the accessory power outlet after a 1.5 second delay. The LED on the outlet illuminates to indicate that the outlet is powered.
