Circuit/System Testing

Midgate Power Window Inoperative

  1. Disconnect the midgate control module connector.
  2. Verify that a test lamp illuminates between the battery supply circuits and ground.
    • If the test lamp does not illuminate repair the battery supply circuits for an open/high resistance or short to ground.
  3. Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp illuminates between the accessory supply circuit and ground.
    • If the test lamp does not illuminate repair the accessory supply circuit for an open/high resistance or short to ground.
  4. Ignition OFF, verify that a test lamp illuminates between the ground circuits and battery voltage.
    • If the test lamp does not illuminate repair the ground circuits for an open/high resistance.
  5. Ignition ON, the down switch signal circuit should at or near battery voltage while the IP switch is held in the down position.
    • If the circuit is not at battery voltage repair the down switch signal circuit for an open/high resistance or a short to ground.
  6. If all the circuits test normal replace the window motor assembly.
