Torsion Bars Bushing Replacement

Preliminary Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the torsion bars. Refer to Torsion Bar and Support Assembly Replacement (Bushing Style)  or Torsion Bar and Support Assembly Replacement (Link Style) .
1 Front Suspension Torsion Bar Bushing

Procedure

  1. Note the position of the bushing in the mounting bracket.
  2. Using the appropriate bushing remover/installer, remove the bushing.
  3. After installing the bushing, peen the bushing in three places 120 degrees apart from each other.
  4. Measure the trim height. Refer to Trim Height Inspection .
