Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2008 GMC Yukon XL, 2008 GMC Yukon, 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2008 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Apply the park brake and block the wheels.
  2. Disconnect the inlet hose, the steering gear, and the return hoses from the booster assembly.
  3. IMPORTANT: DO NOT remove the pipes from the master cylinder.
  4. Remove the master cylinder to hydraulic booster nuts and set the master cylinder aside in the engine compartment.
  5. Remove the stop lamp switch. Refer to Stop Lamp Switch Replacement (Non-Adjustable Pedal) or Stop Lamp Switch Replacement (Adjustable Pedal) .

  7. Remove the 4 booster to bulkhead nuts.
  8. Remove the booster assembly.
  9. Remove the gasket.
