Front Brake Hose Replacement (JD9)

CAUTION: Refer to Brake Dust Caution .
CAUTION: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Caution .

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
1 Wheel Speed Sensor Wire Clip
2 Hose Bracket to Control Arm Bolt
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .

Tighten:  9 N.m (80 lb in)

3 Wheel Speed Sensor Wire Clip
4 Brake Pipe Fitting

Procedure

  1. Remove any dirt or debris from the brake pipe fitting.
  2. Cap the brake pipe fitting to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

Tighten:  25 N.m (18 lb ft)

5 Hose Bracket to Frame Bolt

Tighten:  9 N.m (80 lb in)

6 Brake Hose Fitting Bolt

Tighten:  40 N.m (30 lb ft)

7 Brake Hose Fitting Gasket (Qty: 2)

Procedure

  1. Discard the brake hose fitting gaskets.
  2. Install 2 new brake hose fitting gaskets.
8 Brake Hose
Procedure: 
Bleed the hydraulic brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Manual)  or Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Pressure) .
