Seat Adjuster Motor Circuit Test (+HP2)

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2008 GMC Yukon XL, 2008 GMC Yukon, 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2008 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate seat motor.
  2. Verify that the test lamp illuminates between control circuit terminal 1 and control circuit terminal 2 while pressing the seat switch in both directions.
    • If the test lamp does not illuminate for both directions, test the control circuits for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuits test normal, test or replace the seat adjuster switch.
  3. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the seat motor.
