Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the midgate inner panel. Refer to Midgate Inner Panel Replacement .
  2. Lower the midgate window.
  3. NOTE: Removal of the mid gate window sealing strip with the mid gate closed will damage the sealing strip, requiring a new sealing strip for installation.
  4. Remove the midgate window sealing strip, by lifting the seal off the midgate inner and outer flanges. Refer to Midgate Window Outer Sealing Strip Replacement .

  6. Insert a flat-bladed tool between the midgate reinforcement (3) and the window run channel (1).
  7. Slide the manual release levers (2) downward to release the midgate latches.
  8. Diagnose and repair the midgate latches.
