Removal Procedure

  1. Lower the midgate window.
  2. Fig 1: Separating Inner Midgate

  3. Remove the midgate inner panel. Refer to Midgate Inner Panel Replacement .
  4. Open the midgate. If the latches will not operate using the midgate latch release switch, then release the midgate latches manually. Refer to Opening the Midgate When There Is an Electrical Failure .

  6. Remove the midgate window. Refer to Midgate Window Replacement .
  7. Remove the midgate window run channel(s). Refer to Midgate Window Channel Replacement .

  9. Remove the screws retaining the latch assembly to the midgate structure.
  10. Disconnect the electrical connector from the midgate latch.
  11. Remove the latch from the midgate structure.
