Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2008 GMC Yukon XL, 2008 GMC Yukon, 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2008 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
IMPORTANT: Clean the fuel feed line connection and surrounding area prior to disconnecting the fitting in order to avoid possible fuel system contamination.

  1. Remove the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement (1500 SWB - 98.4L (26 gal) Tank)  or Fuel Tank Replacement (1500 LWB - 117.3L (31 gal) Tank)  or Fuel Tank Replacement (1500 SWB - 98.4L (26 gal) Tank + E85)  or Fuel Tank Replacement (1500 LWB - 117.3L (31 gal) Tank + E85)  or Fuel Tank Replacement (2500 LWB - 98.4L (26 gal) Tank-Front)  or Fuel Tank Replacement (2500 LWB - 43.5L (11.5 gal) Tank-Rear) .
  2. Remove the fuel feed line from the retaining feature (2) in the fuel tank.
  3. Open the fuel/evaporative emission (EVAP) line clip (1) and remove the fuel feed line from the clip.
  4. Disconnect the fuel feed line quick connect fitting at the fuel tank module. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

  6. Remove the fuel feed line from the fuel tank.
  7. Cap the fuel feed port on the fuel tank module in order to prevent possible fuel system contamination.
