Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2008 GMC Yukon XL, 2008 GMC Yukon, 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2008 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X3 harness connector at the LGM.
- Test for less than 15 ohms between the control terminal 4 at the LGM and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, replace the LGM.
- Test for less than 15 ohms between the control terminal 3 at the LGM and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, replace the LGM.
- Test for 9-10 ohms between the control circuit terminal 3 and control circuit terminal 4 at the liftgate motor assembly.
- If less than the specified range, test either control circuit for a short to ground. If the circuits test normal, replace the liftgate motor assembly.
- If greater than the specified range, test either control circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuits test normal, replace the liftgate motor assembly.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the liftgate motor assembly.
